Harvard educator and author to speak on civil resistance

CHARLEMONT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Thursday, August 7th Harvard educator and East Charlemont resident Erica Chenoweth will be speaking at the Federated Church on Route 2 in Charlemont. Chenoweth will be sharing historical lessons on civil resistance for the community.

Chenoweth’s titles include Academic Dean for Faculty Development and the Frank Stanton Professor of the First Amendment at Harvard Kennedy School, Faculty Dean at Pforzheimer House at Harvard College, and a Susan S. and Kenneth L. Wallach Professor at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute. They study political violence and alternatives, and have authored several books and articles on the subject.

Thursday’s event is free and open to the public.
