ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The town of Orange, in collaboration with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments and engineers from Tighe & Bond, is launching a field assessment of the neighborhood between High Street and Beacon Street, and East Main Street to Clark Avenue to determine if the location is eligible for Community Development Block Grant funding under the designation of a “Slum and Blight” district.
The designation of “Slum and Blight” unlocks funding opportunities for revitalization including infrastructure upgrades and housing rehabilitation projects. The field work for the assessment is set to begin in the later half of this week with staff photographing and documenting infrastructure as well as researching records related to water and wastewater systems.
