GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield’s 2025 Local Preliminary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at Greenfield High School. Greenfield residents that want to vote by mail must submit their ballot application annually, and this year the deadline is September 2nd at 5 p.m. Voter registration and changes to voter information must be made by August 29th at 5 p.m.

City Clerk’s Office Announces Vote By Mail for Local Preliminary

Election on September 9, 2025

GREENFIELD – Ahead of the 2025 Local Preliminary Election on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the City Clerk’s Office is announcing the availability of Vote by Mail.

Greenfield residents are reminded that vote by mail or absentee ballot applications must be submitted annually. To learn more about both procedures, please visit the City Clerk’s election webpage: https://greenfield-ma.gov/departments/city_clerk/elections_and_voting.php. The last day to submit a vote by mail application for the Local Preliminary Election is Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 5 PM. The application must be received in the City Clerk’s Office by that date and time.

The deadline for voter registration or to change voter information for this election is Friday, August 29, 2025 at 5 pm. Greenfield residents can register to vote by visiting the City Clerk’s Office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.) or online at: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/. A secure drop box is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for all municipal correspondence, including return ballots and applications to vote by mail.

Residents voting in person for the September 9, 2025, election will cast their ballots at the Greenfield High School gymnasium at 21 Barr Avenue. Voting hours are 7 AM to 8 PM.
