GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Greenfield School Committee voted last night to engage with the New England School Development Council, NESDEC, for Superintendent search services.
At Wednesday’s School Committee meeting, the Committee heard presentations from two agencies, NESDEC and the Massachusetts Associations of School Committees, MASC, on how they would support the School Committee’s search for a new Superintendent. Both offering assistance with the search and interview process, as well as added benefits like assisting with another search if the Superintendent selected does not stay in the position beyond one or two years.
Ultimately, the Committee voted unanimously to move forward with NESDEC, with Committee member Elizabeth Deneeve stating she favored the organization that came to the meeting to give their presentation.
Vice Chair Stacy Sexton was voted in as the liaison for the search and the Committee is working towards forming a larger group to work with NESDEC on the search. More to follow on that in October’s School Committee meeting.
While the search for a new superintendent is ongoing, interim Superintendent Roland Joyal Jr. is serving in the position until June 30th.
