AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UMass Amherst is seeing a reduction in the number of incoming graduate students, leading to concerns about the impact fewer PhD students will have on the University’s research and number of teaching assistants. However, university leaders must ensure they have the funding for PhD students to work twenty hours a week for all four years of their time.
