(Greenfield, MA) The City of Greenfield wants residents to make sure their water is fresh as they start to report back into work.

“As many buildings have been shut down or used less frequently during the COVID-19 pandemic, water quality in the buildings may become degraded due to stagnation,” the release read.

The city recommends flushing the pipes in the entire building, including ice machines and dish washers. As a precaution, residents should be aware that this flushing will recharge or fill sewer traps and if dried out sewer odor can enter the building.
