Fire crews are on the scene of a fire at a home on the Mohawk Trail in Shelburne Falls.

The fire was reported at a structure set back from the road near Mechanic Street. Responding crews are dealing with gusty winds as they attempt to bring the fire under control.

Greenfield Main Street repaving project to begin on Monday

The City of Greenfield has announced that the long-awaited repaving of Main Street between Federal and Conway Streets will begin on Monday.

The project will address the patches of pavement that are a result of utility service work conducted by Berkshire Gas and its contractors.

Greenfield Fire Department remembers 9/11 24 years later: “We will never forget”

On this 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on America, the Greenfield Fire Department hosted a ceremony of remembrance at the fire station at 41 Main Street. 

Fire Chief Robert Strahan addressed a small gathering of residents and GFD members. Strahan said September 11 this year was in some ways was very reminiscent of September 11, 2001.
