(Erving, MA) A senior housing development is in the works for Erving. The Selectboard has approved Rural Development Inc.’s $15.6 million proposal for 26 units across three buildings on Care Drive. One of the buildings with eighteen units will be age-restricted to those 62 and up, earning at most 60% of the county’s median income. The project could be done as soon as 2028 and about three months before the units are ready, a lottery will be held to seek local preference for 70% of the eligible units for the first year. Erving would be responsible for approximately $450,000 of the project that will likely be paid for primarily by grants.
Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority formed the nonprofit Rural Development Inc.
