(Greenfield, MA) — A Greenfield home suffered minor damage from a fire caused by a lightning strike early Thursday night. Greenfield Fire Chief Robert Strahan said the call came in at 652 reporting a fire at 431 Green River Road. A wall in the home had been struck by lightning, triggering a fire which was quickly put down by fire crews. The residents of the house were home at the time of the fire and got out safely. No injuries were reported. The fire forced the temporary closure of Green River Road to through traffic while the fire scene was cleared.
