GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The city of Greenfield has begun the process of replacing former At-Large councilor Penny Ricketts. Ricketts resigned this week, with over a year remaining on her term.
Any registered voter residing in Greenfield who would like to be considered for the opening should send a letter of interest and resume to the Council’s Office at citycouncil@greenfield-ma.gov, by Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 5 pm.
Anyone who submits a letter of interest should attend the City Council Committee Chairs
meeting on October 1, 2024, 6 pm, at the City Hall, at which time they will make a statement and answer questions regarding their candidacy.
Council President John Bottomley will appoint the chosen candidate, subject to a two-thirds approval vote of the councilors present.
Whomever is chose to fill the vacancy will serve on the council until the city election in November of 2025.
