SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA — (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A 60-year-old man from South Deerfield died after being struck by an Amtrak train at the Pleasant Street crossing in South Deerfield Monday afternoon.
The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the victim passed away due to injuries sustained in the incident, but his name is not being disclosed at this time.
There were no injuries reported among the passengers and crew of the train.
The investigation continues, headed up by the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
