(BOSTON) — Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker on Friday urged Bay State employers to be cautious as the state begins a phased reopening next week. The Massachusetts Reopening Advisory Board is set to release details of the plan on Monday, after which time certain businesses will be able to reopen on-site in a limited capacity.
Baker said even as this happens, he wants businesses to continue with work-from-home policies that have been set up in virtually every business in the state. Baker said as workplace restrictions are relaxed, business owners should still allow for remote work where and when it makes sense, and even when welcoming workers back on site, strategies for employee safety should be stressed, including arranging staggered shifts for employees, setting up workplaces to limit face-to-face contact, and adhering social distancing and hygiene protocols, with no exceptions.
The full details of the state’s reopening plan will be released at the State House on Monday.
