ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Orange Special Town Meeting voters overwhelmingly approved adoption of a town charter which will result in a Town Manager form of government.
155 voters approved the article, with only 12 voting against it and two abstentions. An amendment which would have trimmed the selectboard from five to three members failed decisively, 150-18 with 2 abstentions.
If approved by the state legislature and Governor Maura Healy, the new setup would go into effect as of July 1, 2026.
