Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker says the Commonwealth has now entered the key “surge” stage of the COVID 19 pandemic. Baker says the surge will likely peak around the 20th of April. The governor says newly confirmed cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities are all still on an upward slope, and officials continue to make contingency plans for additional hospital beds to be utilized for the surge. Baker says residents must absolutely adhere to social distancing recommendations and stay home as much as possible, now more than ever.
